Have you been looking for a way to help students grow their collaboration skills and enhance reflection on their performance? If so, there’s a tool that we believe can help!
FeedbackFruits’ Group Member Evaluation (GME) creates opportunities for students to self-reflect and provide feedback on peer performance in a constructive and easy way — without ever having to leave Canvas.
The GME tool uses assistive AI feedback coaching to help guide student comments, allowing well-performing group members to be recognized and others to learn how to improve their performance. It connects to Canvas Groups and Grades helping instructors provide meaningful feedback and formatively assess individual students’ competence and contribution beyond the assessment of group products. Valuable insight into student performance and competence can also be gained through viewing the GME learning analytics dashboard.
An advisory committee comprised mostly of students selected the GME tool to be funded through the Student Tech Fee Grant and it is available to use free of charge within Canvas.
Excited to learn more?! Join us for a demo on September 14 by registering here. For instructions on how to set up the tool in Canvas please visit this webpage. If you’d like to discuss ideas for using it in your teaching or just have questions, contact us at citt@ufl.edu. We’d love to hear from you!
