Overview
The Teaching for Inclusivity and Accessibility certificate of completion helps instructors reach a diverse group of students and consider issues of identity, equity, and access. It focuses on relevant and reflective activities that allow participants to implement changes in their teaching practice.
Structure
This certificate of completion is a series of three online workshops. Each workshop takes approximately 8-10 hours to complete with an emphasis on building content and assessments that can be utilized in your courses. Participants earn a badge for each offering and a certificate of completion for completing all three.
Offerings
- Designing an Inclusive Course
This workshop lasts six weeks and provides opportunities to learn and apply methods for designing a course that recognizes the diversity of UF students and empowers all students equally. Participants will leave the course with a revision to one aspect of their course and direction on next steps they can take to make their course materials, organization, or assessments more inclusive.

- Fostering Inclusive Communities for Learning
This workshop lasts six weeks and helps instructors strategize ways to build an online environment where a wide range of students feel safe, respected, and comfortable enough to collaborate and learn. Participants will develop tools for communicating effectively with students and facilitating positive interactions among members of their online courses with additional tips for in-person class meetings.

- Accessible Online Environments
This workshop lasts two weeks and provides instruction on how to design online courses with accessibility in mind. The course covers different types of accessibility needs and suggestions for making an online course more accessible. After completing the offering, participants will have a full understanding of how to improve online accessibility for all students.
